Delegate Denied By +Nikolai
Re-Elected by Alaskan Diocese
Forbidden by Bishop Nikolai to represent the Diocese of Alaska on the Metropolitan Council last Spring
(following his appointment by the Temporary Administrator, Fr. Alexander Garklavs, during +Nikolai's involuntary leave of absence), Fr. Michael Oleksa has been restored to the Council. At the Alaskan Diocesan Assembly held in Anchorage earlier this week, Fr. Oleksa and Matushka Cheryl Andrew were elected to two years terms to the Council. Fr. Oleksa, who had helped lead the clergy uprising in protest of the former Bishop's actions, was also appointed as the Acting Chancellor by Bishop Benjamin, Administrator of the Diocese, as well as elected to St. Herman's Seminary Board of Trustees.
