Just an observation with regard to the installation of Bishop Benjamin. Aren't these affairs usually attended by bishops and priests of other jurisdictions. It seemed to be just an OCA affair. Do you think other jurisdictions might be distancing themselves from +Herman?
Bishop Joseph of Los Angeles and the West (Antiochian Archdiocese) and Bishop Maxim of Western America (Serbian Orthodox Church) concelebrated and participated. The Greek Metropolitan of San Francisco, Gerasimos, was represented by his Chancellor.
The very first two pictures on the OCA website of the Installation Liturgy are of the Antiochian Bp Joseph and the Serbian Bishop Maxim, (wearing an ancient Serbian style mitre, quite interesting). They are both venerating the cross held by his beatitude prior to concelebrating with him. There were several non-OCA priests there too.
The entire Church will be skeptical of the new Investigative Committee's findings if the committee itself does not include any of the Administration's outspoken critics.
If the purpose of the DOW fifth resolution is to ensure that Bishop Benjamin may freely appoint committee members, and if the DOW is serious about convincing the DOM to discontinue withholding, then the committee needs a respected representative from the DOM whose independence is unquestioned.
