Hopefully, like + Theodosius, he will bow out gracefully "due to medical issues." This will give the AAC a real new beginning. + Seraphim then to be appointed locum tenens until the AAC in 2012 and all the bishops resign and to be re-instated by their diocese if so desired. Now, let's kick-start this OCA and get back on track as the ONLY autocephalous Orthodox Church in North America!
Seraphim doesn't sound like any angel. If the reporting that Job and Dmitri signed different versions of that letter than Seraphim sent out, something's amiss in the office of Secretary of the Synod. Is there no one there other than Job that has any sense of decency?
The answer to: " Is there no one there other than Job that has any sense of decency?" is clearly a resounding NO! If there was, given the enormous moral and ethical storm destroying the OCA, theft of God's talents, and the suffering inflicted on the faithful, any other bishop with an ounce of humanity, love, integrity, and courage would have stepped forth and acted. Instead we are left with +Job alone, and even he is tentative in fighting the battle.

That is a slight overreaction. Bishop Benjamin seemed to do an ok job on the report, it does seem that Seraphim has done some less public actions along with Nikon, It is sad that the above bishops did not do much more.
Addendum to my previous post. We can now add Bishop +Benjamin to the list of hierarchs who have shown themselves to be true and faithful shepherds of the Church. AXIOS! AXIOS! AXIOS! Our journey through the desert may indeed be coming to an end. There's hope!

Why is MR. Kondratick not in jail along with his wife?
I am certain that he received an advance copy of the report and refuses to face the facts. He has been in charge for years and will not take responsibility for the Church that has been entrusted to his care. It is really a shame and a scam!
This shows the real character of the man.
That was too funny, but after further thought its backwards. Herman has had a tremendous amount of backbone, but its just been used for the most nefarious of purposes. The reason he needs the back surgery is because all of the scandal and the crimes and the obstruction that he's been carrying on it, the SIC might have been the proverbial straw that broke his back.
Now, we ask, if he's on leave of absence, he's not really not in charge. Who is? And will they carry on the obstruction and deceit or will this be an opening to gates of finding out what has happened? Can we find out who hired PR and what they have?
Andy pray tell Jimmy exactly how do you know this? Are you his personal physician? What are your medical credentials? Are you his personal physician? If you are you just breached doctor patient privilege.
You should be ashamed of yourselves. I believe we can all agree that the Metropolitan has not done the best job running the OCA, but to take shameless jabs at him while he is having surgery is disgraceful. How about you take this time to act like humans and pray for the person that could use it rather than make cheap jokes about him.
The coward has left the building. The latest news that Herman has refused to attend a joint meeting of the Synod and MC hiding behind a cloak of medical leave of absence, which has not been granted, but will be discussed tomorrow, is the beginning of the end. The man, and we use that word lightly here, who would terrorize clergy and parishes, who's arrogance proclaimed he was confident of his final judgement, who stood in contempt of all those that were beneath him, who used church resources to hide and cover up his acts against the Church, has cowardly hidden behind a cloak of medical leave of absence, the day before the day the entire Church has been waiting for, to avoid facing the masses and defending the indefensible. He's been holed up lately, but today he refuses to show his face to those that are accountable. He remains, today, holed up in his house in South Canaan, steeling that contempt and looking down his nose to the faithful.
Today, people, he may not have resigned, not yet, but he abdicated his throne and shown that, while he may be in name only a Metropolitan, the last shred of any viability or facade of authority has disintegrated.
A most tragic of days for a most tragic of figures, but a day of hope for the long suffering Church under his failed leadership.
Sun shines upon Syosset, now can we open our eyes and use it to guide us?
I just read the newest post regarding Met Herman not attending, and a mention the Archbishop Nathaniel is also not in attendance, "and it is reported that he is in Romania." Well, I don't know where you get your information, but I know for a fact he is not in Romania. Also, when will you ever get your facts straight. THe ROEA is not in talks with the Romanian Orthodox Church to go "under" their jurisdiction. Just more fear mongering.
(Editor's Note: I said " reportedly" in Romania. According to other, later, sources, he is now in Arizona. Hard to imagine he missed the most important Synod meeting in OCA history, whether he is in Romania or Arizona. And yes, the ROEA is in negotiations to go under the ompohor of the Romanian Orthodox Church, rather than the OCA. Don't quibble.)
Thus the ship lists on it's port-side as she slowly goes down. The captain has jumped overboard. The rest of the crew is busy rearranging the deck chairs. The passengers are moving quietly to the lifeboats.
All is well.

How did we get to this point in the OCA?
It's really quite simple. The bishops never embraced what it is to be a bishop. A bishop's duty is to "SERVE." Their idea, esp. + Herman, is to "BE SERVED." This is where it all goes wrong. The other major issue is "PLACING OUR TRUST IN MEN," not God. Would anyone have "thunk" that RSK & + Theodosius would have taken the OCA for such a ride in 1995? Well, they did! "Trust, but verify" - we must never forget this again!
Has anyone tried to download the SIC report from the OCA website? I just get the title page and the following 30 some pages are blank!
(Editor's note: I have heard this from two other people, anxious to read the report. Try uploading a new version of Adobe Reader. It is not a MAC- PC problem, as I too work on a MAC, and the Report downloaded just fine...)
Nice try Joe! This time accountability must prevail and the MC looks to be holding his and MT feet to the fire now that the report is out.
Boom goes the dynamite! This is finally the beginning of the end of a long dark period for the OCA. These folks did a terrific job of creating actionable items and kudo's to the OCA for posting the report on the website including the recommendations.
Mark...its in large part happening due to yours and everyones pursuit for the truth. Outstanding!
I sit here reading the SIC report and one thing that really strikes me, and strikes me to my core, is the AUDACITY of Kondratick to walk around in cassock in Venice when he has done all he has, all the harm to the Church. THE AUDACITY. Maybe its just me, but has the man no shame? Probably not, after all, he robbed God.
Thanks to you and your wedsite that you gave truth to the people of OCA and that h is finally stepping down. We need men like you to tell the truth and keep hammering for truth until h stepped down and hopefully drastic changes will be made at the OCA.
Lets get financial statments from all parts of the OCA INCLUDING the SEMINARIES.
The people deserve and have a right to know just how the money they donate is spent.
Again thank you for a job very well done.
Thank you for all your efforts over the years to bring this scandal to the surface. This scandal has been going on for many years. I was informed of the whispered rumors back in 1995, but at that time, it was sexual as well as financial. Perhaps there is another shoe to drop. More action is needed before the healing can began. 1st I have yet to see any kind of apology to Deacon. Eric Wheeler. 2nd, restitution must be part of the punishment. 3rd, civil authorities must be brought into the picture. 4th, if I, as a lay person had knowledge of the scandal in 1995, so did all the Bishops. So all bishops should resign at or before the AAC, ask for forgiveness, plead their case to the AAC, then, if they wish, enter their name for appointment to being a Bishop again. The three (3) Bishops who had knowledge of the financial scandal since 2004 should be deposed. It appears the long missing Metropolitan Council have found new responsibilities and authority. It brings a breath of fresh air and new life. One more item for the MC. The president of the MC must come from within the ranks of the Council and not serve for more than two (2) years. Never again should the Metropolitan or the Chancellor be the president. Now lets go forward and make the OCA a shining star on the hill. Peter J. Sredich
How does the OCA expect to restore trust when the Archbishop assigned responsibility for administering the Church is one of the three involved in knowing for three or four years about the misdeeds and did nothing?? I can't believe this is happening!!!!
