The Mid-East shepherd goes ahead of the sheep; the shepherd in Scotland goes behind the sheep...
BUT, Our Shepherd, the Lord Jesus Christ goes in front (to lead and console) and follows behind (to protect). Our hierarchs (unlike worldly shpherds) are not given the grace to simply lead, but in Him (in Whom we live and move and have our being), they also are graced to follow where there is a better vantage point for seeing to better protect the flock from the wolves. We have had lots of flashy leading with consoling/lying words; what we have NOT had is courageous and difficult and truth engendering protection and protection engendering truth from our hierarchs. The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want He makes me to lie down in green pastures He leads me beside the still waters He restores my soul He LEADS me in the paths of RIGHTEOUSNESS for His name's sake Yea, tho' I walk through the valley of death I will fear no evil For Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies Thou anointest my head with oil My cup runneth over Surely goodness and mercy shall FOLLOW me all the days of my life And I shall dwell in the House of the Lord forever. At what point will our Church look into possible masonic infiltration in our heirachy?
How will our church be able to spot the imposters and be able to root out and Bishop or church worker that has taken a secret oath to another organization? We are called to be wise as serpents, yet innocent as doves...yet we have allowed our Church to fall into corruption. The ADM funds must be seen in this context, as those involved at the top and in the related foundations are all involved. Bear in mind that all of our Presidential candidates are freemasons (and in Palin's case it's her husband). Please read on - and excellent read. To my fellow Orthodox in the OCA - It Is Time We Get Wise! The Nature of Freemasonry Compiled by Fr. Matthew Raphael Johnson Freemasons are expert propagandists, as well as direct follows of Lucifer at the higher levels. I have received a few questions recently why Orthodoxy condemns the Lodges of the Masons, and there are many who don’t know the basic “theology” these creeps hold to. Of course, many of the lower level Masons also are aware of the secrets of the upper chambers, but do little about it. I’ve complied these citations from numerous written and electronic sources. Over the last several years, I have been searching out verifiable quotes relating to Freemasonry and its relationship to Luciferianism/Promethianism. Because forgeries abound in this field, I have only used sources deriving from the great founders of the Order, people like Hall or Pike, whose authority in Masonry is impeccable. My purpose is to debunk not only the myths of Masonry, but also the pseudo-Orthodox who are deep into the mysteries of the lodge. In this respect, no Orthodox man can hold that the New Orthodox have grace, or that they are even Christian, largely due to their Masonic connections. The Phanar has been avowedly masonic since the 1920s, if not sooner, as has the Patriarchate of Alexandria. The Serbian Orthodox Church in America is led by a public Mason, Christopher the Malevolent, and most of the Serbian and Greek diaspora is Masonic at one level or another. The reality is that quotes from the Phanar on ecumenism are nearly identical to 19th century quotes from the major writers on Masonry. Too close, in fact, to be coincidence. Hence, one must conclude the modern Orthodoxy is a fraud, and only the separatists, the Old Believers, the True Orthodox in Russia and Greece, alone are Orthodox, alone are Christian, and alone are presently struggling for salvation. One is justified in saying that Masonry, broadly speaking, is the “religious” element of the New World Order, or the movement from elite sources to merge the nations and religious of the globe into a single economic and political space. It is the single more important movement in our times. It dictates one’s standing in the world, in that all those who accept its tenets are promoted and given mainline prestige, all who reject it are relegated to the “outer darkness,” as the Masons would say. Because of this, it became imperative that the leaders of all “religions” of the world become Masons to one extent or another. This has been accomplished in the Vatican, the Phanar, among the Protestants and even among the Tibetan Buddhists (though Buddhism is not a religion, strictly speaking). Hence, an Orthodox source of these citations is absolutely necessary. Many Orthodox, even among the True Faith, refuse to deal with this issue, partially out of ignorance, but partially out of their own culpability, since the ethnic diaspora among the Orthodox peoples are so heavily infiltrated. Since the internet is such an easily accessible source of Masonic teachings, there is complete moral culpability for those low level Masons who refuse to condemn the order. They have lost their souls, and no excuses, in this day and age, can be used by them. As a result, it is certainly not exaggeration to say that Lucifer controls the Phanar, and most of those in communion with it. Keep in mind as you read these things that many of the hierarchs in "world Orthodoxy" accept these techings, and have taken oaths that prove their acceptance of these. ******* Masonry is the descendent of, or is founded upon, a divinely imparted religion which long antedates the prime date of creation as given in our Bible. It is all that remains to us of the first world religion which flourished in an antiquity so old that it is impossible to affix a date. It was the first unified religion... To this, such symbols as the pyramids, both in Egypt and South America, bear witness... The ancient mysteries were temporary custodians of the ancient truth and closely allied to the Masonic work of today... the relation of the Mysteries to Masonry has oft been recognized, and the golden thread of living continuity can be traced through them to modern Masonry. The Mysteries...are all parts of that ancient thread which has its origin in that primeval religion which terminates today in masonry - Foster Bailey [33rd degree Mason], 'The Spirit of Freemasonry' 30-2 You must conceal all crimes of your brother Masons...and should you be summoned as a witness against a brother Mason be always sure to shield him...It may be perjury to do this, it is true, but you're keeping your obligations. - Handbook of Masonry, page 183 The same prohibition, plus another in the first of the Old Charges, prohibits discussion of sectarian religion. Sectarian religion does not refer to Christian denominations; it refers to Christianity the same as any other of the world’s several religions. That means that Christian sermons should not be delivered at Lodge gatherings, nor should Christian prayers be offered, nor Christian symbols displayed. The prohibition on discussion of religious subjects in Masonic meetings applies to Masons even if every member of the Lodge is of the same religious belief. - Mentor’s Manual, Lodge of Indiana, p. 16 Lucifer, the Light-bearer! Strange and mysterious name to give to the Spirit of Darkness! Lucifer, the Son of the Morning! Is it he who bears the Light, and with its splendors intolerable blinds feeble, sensual, or selfish Souls? Doubt it not! - Albert Pike, Morals and Dogma, 321 I hereby promise the Great Spirit Lucifuge, Prince of Demons, that each year I will bring unto him a human soul to do with as as it may please him, and in return Lucifuge promises to bestow upon me the treasures of the earth and fulfil my every desire for the length of my natural life. If I fail to bring him each year the offering specified above, then my own soul shall be forfeit to him. - The Secret Teaching Of All Ages by Manly Palmer Hall 33° p. 104. We shall unleash the Nihilists and Atheists, and we shall provoke a formidable social cataclysm which in all its horror will show clearly to the nations the effects of absolute atheism, origin of savagery and of the most bloody turmoil. Then everywhere, the citizens, obliged to defend themselves against the world minority of revolutionaries, will exterminate those destroyers of civilization, and the multitude, disillusioned with Christianity, whose deistic spirits will be from that moment without compass, anxious for an ideal, but without knowing where to render its adoration, will receive the pure doctrine of Lucifer, brought finally out in the public view, a manifestation which will result from the general reactionary movement which will follow the destruction of Christianity and atheism, both conquered and exterminated at the same time. - Albert Pike 33°, Letter 15 August 1871 Addressed to Grand Master Guiseppie Mazzini 33° Archives British Museum All antiquity believed ...in a Mediator or Redeemer, by means of whom the Evil Principle was to be overcome and the Supreme Deity reconciled to His creatures. The belief was general that he was to be born of a virgin and suffer a painful death. The Hindus called him Krishna; the Chinese, Kioun-tse; the Persians, Sosiosch; the Scandinavins, Balder; the Christians, Jesus; the Masons, Hiram. - Pirtle, The [Masonic] Kentucky Monitor 14,15 Freemasonry has taught each man can, by himself work out his own conception of God and thereby achieve salvation - J. S. M. Ward 'Freemasonry: Its Aims and Ideals (p 187) Masonry is regarded as the direct descendant, or as a survival of the mysteries...of Isis and Osiris in Egypt -Robert Freke Gould, History of Freemasonry 1:13 WE MUST GET WISE AND RECOGNIZE OUR ENEMIES ARE ALREADY IN THE GATES

Mark, I know you're not a fan of ethnic modifiers, but the correct title of the Alaskan Diocese is the "Russian Orthodox Diocese of Alaska."
And, no, that's not an invention of +Nikolai to make people be Russian. (editor's note: I have no problem with ethnic modifers as long as they fulfill Stokoe's two axioms regarding Orthodox Church membership. Axiom #1: Never belong to a diocese whose name you can't spell. If you can't spell Sorouzh, Xanthos or Moschonision it is most likely that it is not where you are, in more ways than one. Axiom #2: If you have to sing words originally written in one alphabet using another, pronunciation is not the only thing suffering. If you can't or won't take the time or effort to learn the language you are trying so desperately to pray in, a visitor might reasonably question whether it is a) the language or b) the meaning of the words that is important. The correct answer is b) and anything that hinders that is less than helpful. So, that being said, this former member of the Dansk Spelsmanslag, Skandia Kappel, Kuopion Krekelainen Tannsi Rhyma (Greek Folk Group of Kuopio), etc, has no problem with ethnicity. For heaven's sake, I was 40 before I worshipped in an all-English parish. So, no, I did not change the name of the diocese in my report. They did. It was printed as it was sent to me, header and all. FYI: OCA.org also refers to the "Diocese of Alaska", sans "Russian". )

I can assure you that there are no masons on the Holy Synod of the Orthodox Church in America. If you wish to be concerned with Masons, focus your attention on the those laity that are Masons.
Masons in the episcopacy may be an issue in the Greek and Antiochian Churches, but not in the OCA. It is certainly a much bigger lay problem there too then in the OCA. (editor's note: At this point in Masonry's tired life, I hardly think it is much of a problem, let alone a "threat". This is not a defense of masonry, just an observation that we have much greater issues facing us than fraternal orders who are decaying even faster than we are...)

Some very enjoyable reading from the tinfoil hat wing of American Orthodoxy. Why I should attach any credence to the ravings of an obvious loon, even a 33rd Degree loon such as Albert Pike is another question, one which brave Anonymous does not answer. I don't much care what Theosophists say to one another, either, but perhaps Anonymous can warn us about the insidious Madame Blavatsky in his next screed. Is the Church of Christ so fragile that nutjobs such as Pike are a threat to her?

Congratulations on the pastoral renewal being undertaken by Bishop Benjamin and his flock....commiserations to poor Australia and the Serbian Church where the "retired" Bishop with the suspended Isidore and Panteleimon are very busy undermining the Serbian bishop and are building a new "diocese' based on Nikolai......shame, shame on OCA for not deposing this man.............Lord have mercy on the poor unsuspecting faithful in AUstralia........this man Nikolai should be either confined to a monastery and under obedience or thrown out of the church........

The Serbian Orthodox in Australia aren't stupid..... The Australian Serbs know of + Nicolai's attempted destruction of the Alaskan church and they won't let him do it there.

Can someone explain to me the purpose of the second article ("Delegate Denied by +Nikolai Re-Elected by Alaskan Diocese") other than mean-heartedness, since all of the information provided was in the official "Press-release" in the first article? Just another chance to bash +NIKOLAI...sad...
(Editor's note: I can. The "second article" preceeded the "first" in publication by several hours. I had no idea the latter was coming. When it did appear, I posted as well, since it contained some additional information others might find interesting. There was no need or desire to "bash" +Nikolai. He is as relevant to the future of the OCA, which is the topic at hand, as last year's snow. May he find his salvation in Australia, which is were he has chosen to live.)
