The reality is that the OCA is still going through it's strategic plan. The outcome may be that there is no need to have STOTS & SVS as separate schools. STOTS is still considered to be in a semi-isolated area - perfect for a monastery, cemetery, retreat center, retirement community, etc., but not ideal for an institution of higher learning. Schools of higher learning need to be located where there is culture, major libraries, other institutions of higher learning, access to visiting professors, etc.
Economic realities may prevail; we'll see!
In the article "Uncertain Times in South Canaan" published on this website on July 29th, it was stated that Fr. Alexander Golubov has had his contract as Academic Dean of St Tikhon's Seminary discontinued. However, the photos from the August 7th seminary Board of Trustees meeting on the St Tikhon's seminary website show Fr Golubov in attendance.
Is Fr Golubov still the Academic Dean, or is he not? There is a rumor going around that he has refused to accept his dismissal. Is this true? If so, what does this mean? Where is Metropolitan Jonah on this one?
